ICES coordinates and promotes marine research on fisheries, oceanography and the marine environment in the North Atlantic. As a meeting point for more than 1600 scientists in 20 member countries, ICES offers advice about fish stocks and marine ecosystems, which is used directly by governments and regulatory bodies that manage the North Atlantic Ocean and adjacent seas.
